GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® Classes

Our GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS Classes are unique forms of exercise devised by Julio Horvath from Hungary. The system was developed using key movement principles from yoga, Tai Chi, gymnastics, dance and swimming. GYROTONIC/GYROKINESIS will enhance structural fitness, range of motion, coordination and strength while achieving grace and mind-body connection.

The technique in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Classes

The classes aim to balance of the chakras and energize the body systems. It promotes the flow of Chi (energy) through the body, including the organs and the nervous system. This is achieved by stimulating the flow of blood and lymph and correcting dysfunctional patterns of the muscular and skeletal systems. A key benefit of GYROTONIC which is assisted by a machine, and GYROKINESIS, which is often performed in a group, is the release of excessive tension. This latter is often what inhibits functional movement.

In the last month I’ve started coming to Pilates at “Pilates Manchester” in Sale. It’s very close to the metro, so it’s convenient to get to. I’m going three times a week : Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The classes are very affordable, at a good level for beginners as well as more advanced students, and my body just feels better each time I’ve finished one.
Both Nisha and her staff are very enthusiastic knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring you get the most out of each class. I’d highly recommend that people come and decided for themselves.” – Stuart Dee, Sale

The methodology of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®Classes

The technique builds on systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises. The movements stimulate the body’s internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated. The entire body is taken through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular movement, as well as all other joint articulation.
