Are You Eating Food—or Food-Like Products?

The Hidden Danger of Packaged and Processed Meals

There is a reason that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has scored 27 goals in 35 matches so far in the Premier League 2025/2026 season. 15 of the 27 goals were scored at home, while he scored 12 goals at away games.  My understanding is that he is following his metabolic type pattern, which is a protein type. This means his diet is 45% protein from animal sources plus 20% fat sources from both animal and non animal sources and his carbohydrates are the remaining percentage, which are predominately non white such as greens, sweet potato and other low glycaemic index foods. This means he is satiated and is not living sympathetically dominant in his central nervous system. He also has no digestive issues, that may show up as an unstable core, thus leading to lower limb injuries such as calf and hamstrings.

His diet and rehabilitation program includes raw milk, organ meats, organic red meat plus following the circadian rhythm.

The recovery habits that set him apart

While many focus on Haaland’s diet, experts say his recovery routine may be equally important. He reportedly:

  • Goes to bed around 10 p.m.
  • Limits blue-light exposure before sleep
  • Uses ice baths regularly
  • Practices yoga
  • Undergoes cryotherapy
  • Prioritizes recovery sessions

Sleep is especially important because growth hormone release peaks during deep sleep, helping muscles repair and rebuild after exercise. Research consistently shows that inadequate sleep can impair athletic performance, slow recovery, and increase injury risk.

The benefits of morning sunlight

Haaland has also spoken about exposing his eyes to natural sunlight shortly after waking.

Health experts explain that morning sunlight helps regulate the body’s circadian rhythm – the internal clock that controls sleep-wake cycles, hormone production, and energy levels. Better circadian alignment can improve sleep quality, mood, cognitive performance, and recovery.

Meditation and mental performance

The football star also practices meditation, which he says helps him find inner peace and maintain focus. According to studies, meditation helps:

  • Reduce stress
  • Improve concentration
  • Enhance emotional resilience
  • Support recovery from intense competition

There is also a reason why the Norwegian team arrived to the world cup in the US with a huge shipment of food from home, including 300kg of fish, 116kg of traditional Norwegian cheese and around 6,000 oranges. When everything is added together, the total haul is believed to top one tonne (1,00kg), making it one of the most impressive preparation plans of any nation competing in North America. Before anyone accuses Norway of simply packing their favourite snacks, or trying to avoid American food that is pumped full of sugar and preservatives, there’s actually a serious reason behind it.

Our health lies in the soil.  The herbicides, pesticides and rodenticides do not make elite athletes perform at their best, nor does keep the team injury free and mentally cognitive. Did you know that the gut and brain develop from the same tissue in the embryo called the endoderm. The endoderm forms part of the gastrointestinal tract plus the central nervous system. The gut and brain are connected, so what ever you put in your mouth effects the brain. Its a motorways of networks communication to the brain, but a goat path going back down.

Hidden Dangers of Processed Foods that are marketed through the fitness industry

My gym has reopened after a major refurbishment. I am very excited, although I would prefer to train outdoors and in nature, the reality of life is that it’s just not going to be practical with weather, winter day light hours, my work and commitments to other life habits. I also want to compliment the other forms of movement that I do.  Also another way of creating longstanding postural change and tonicity of tissues is to load the skeletal system with weights, once mobility and fascial pathways have been restored.

My gym is advertising  protein smoothies and GMO foods. You always have to ask yourself, ‘Are you eating food or food like products?’ Big corporation in any product or service relies on sponsorship from products. This is the same for every major sporting event, fashion product and other retail services.  So gyms have many unhealthy products plus shiny aesthetic opening tactics to entice Joe Bloggs to get hooked on poison. Think of this, add the words: ‘low cholesterol’, ‘protein’, ‘gut friendly’, ‘healthy’, ‘low fat’, ‘low carb’ on any product and it will sell ten times more. Thus making more money for the manufacturer. There is always hidden danger of packaged and processed foods.

I am fortunate that my core values are strong in leading by example. and I would not take any product or service into the studios which takes clients away from homeostasis and optimal health. Remember dis-ease is a state of imbalance, and inflammation is telling us something. We suppress it with medication, which provides a short term fix rather than looking at the root cause. The sicker we get, the more we line someone else’s pockets by seeking fast style food medication.

There is no doubt at all that medication saves lives everyday, but is meant for short term acute problems. The same as any injection, you are treating symptoms and not the root cause. There is no fast way to true health, weight loss or prevention of disease through any medication or vaccination. Yes it may help short term, but the inner work has to be done to sustain life force and vitality.

Ask yourself, just because someone is promoting a product, does it mean its true?

We get sick when our body is toxic, the environment in which we live is not supporting us, and also our belief systems and choices are holding us back from true change.

You are exactly what you eat. The quality of your tissues, ability to repair from injury and stay pain free is always linked with nutrition.

This includes all inflammation and  malady of the mind/brain, they are linked with your enteric nervous system gut brain. (see opening paragraph).

Don’t believe me? Stick inflammation in-front of any of these words in google : ADHD, autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s , diabetes type 3, depression, anxiety and the list goes on.

Most protein powders and packaged foods are dead. They have no significant vitality, life force, energy, prana, chi or dantiene to maintain the bodies energy. The digestive system is mouth to anus, it will take more energy and resources to move processed foods through the tract. Once a person is depleted it opens the door to unhealthy pathogens including fungus and parasites.

Imposter and impersonation food and nutrition

Synthetic vitamins, food colourants, preservatives, additives, pesticides, herbicides, rodenticides all create chaos in the system. When you buy any packaged food its going to  have all sorts of chemical additives to it, that the body cant process, ingest and digest. These toxins are then shuttled off to any fatty deposits in the body including the adipose layer of the tissue.

The body cannot break this down because of lack of nutrition and the body is just weakened. When the body eats garbage foods, it attracts parasites. Parasites eat dead stuff and when the body has too much parasites into the body they start to show external features of the fungi which is living inside. If this is not resolved at a root cause the optimal end result is death.

So in a nutshell poor quality foods, such as commercially raised  animals and microwaved foods, do not give one the building  blocks that people need to repair the body itself.
