Footwork on the reformer is a cyclical reaction.
It’s not just about the feet, muscles and bones.
In-fact Joseph Pilates talked about : ‘Legs of the belly’.
This is not a static leg press machine exercise from the gym!
When you learn to move with ease and flow, you will actually learn to move from the powerhouse.
A cyclical process is a combination of heart beat, respiration, sleep wake cycles, circadian hormone secretion and an integration of rhythmical bodily signals.
The brain forms the foundation of the temporal continuity, so when we are moving in repetition, we also have a phase of need, drive and satisfaction.
Today, I am just demonstrating a few simple moves, but if you really understand the spiritual, the mental, the emotional aspects of the body, you will go deep into your subconscious!
You will understand that footwork integrates all the way through the full system of Pilates and into our every day life.
